Main criteria for obtaining a residence permit on the basis of family reunification
Georgia provides for the possibility of obtaining a residence permit (TPL) on the basis of family reunification. This type of residence permit is intended for close relatives of Georgian citizens or foreign citizens who already have a residence permit.

- Spouse of a Georgian citizen or residence permit holder. Minor children (under 18 years of age) of a citizen of Georgia or a holder of a residence permit. Parents of a minor ID card holder. Requirements for obtaining a residence permit:
Proof of family ties:
- Marriage certificate for spouses.
- Birth certificate for children or parents.
Financial solvency:
- Must prove sufficient income to live in Georgia. The minimum monthly income must be at least twice the Georgia cost of living.
- Alternatively, you can provide a Georgian bank statement proving that you have funds in the amount of 550 GEL multiplied by the number of months of intended residence. For example, to obtain a residence permit for 12 months you will need at least GEL 6,500.
What documents are needed:
- A copy of the applicant's passport.
- Document confirming legal stay in Georgia (e.g. visa or entry stamp).
- Documents confirming family ties (marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc.).
- Documents confirming financial solvency (income certificate or bank statement).
- A photograph (taken when submitting documents at the House of Justice).
- A receipt for the payment of the state fee (to be paid when submitting documents at the House of Justice).
